At Mrs. Helane’s Learn & Playcare, we embrace the beauty of language by learning and exploring words from various countries. While English is the primary language spoken at our center, we celebrate linguistic diversity and introduce children to different cultures and languages, broadening their understanding of the world.

At Mrs. Helane’s Learn & Playcare, we deeply value cooperative play, recognizing that it’s an essential skill that must be learned and nurtured. Children naturally learn through observation, so as the primary teacher, I model cooperative play by taking turns, acting gently, and speaking kindly.

By reinforcing positive behaviors, like sharing and kindness, we create a harmonious environment where children begin to understand the importance of cooperation. Over time, these interactions help diffuse social tension, fostering a peaceful and supportive atmosphere for all the children.
At Mrs. Helane’s Learn & Playcare, we understand that separation can be difficult for young children, so we begin with short periods to help them build trust and confidence that their caregiver will return. This approach fosters a sense of security and mutual understanding. As these brief separations become routine, we gradually extend the time apart. Bringing a comfort item from home, such as a favorite blanket, toy, or teddy bear, can also provide reassurance.

It’s perfectly normal for a child to feel upset during the initial stages of independence, and this is a healthy response to the love and attachment they’ve developed. For transitions and milestones, we create personalized plans that cater to each child’s unique personality, ensuring a smooth and supportive process.

You can drop off your child starting at 7:30 am, and we provide supervision each morning. We recommend that parents walk or carry their child to Mrs. Helane’s Learn and Playcare. Parking is available on the street, and you can easily walk or carry your child to the daycare.

Toddlers

At Mrs. Helane’s Learn and Playcare, we prioritize smooth and secure afternoon pick-ups. Here’s an overview of our procedures:

Authorized Individuals: Children will only be released to individuals listed on their approved pick-up authorization form. Please inform us in advance if someone new will be picking up your child and ensure they bring proper identification.

Pick-Up Area: Parents and guardians are asked to park in the designated parking area and proceed to the center’s main entrance to pick up their child. Mrs. Helane will assist in ensuring your child is ready to leave.
At Mrs. Helane’s Learn and Playcare, we believe in nourishing growing minds and bodies with a structured approach to meals and snacks.

Breakfast: We serve a wholesome breakfast every morning, starting at 7:45 AM, to ensure children begin their day energized and ready to learn.

Morning Snack: Around 9:30 AM, children may enjoy a healthy snack brought from home during morning recess. We encourage families to pack nutritious options to support focus and growth throughout the day.

Lunch: Lunchtime is a cherished moment for children to refuel and recharge. Parents can either provide a packed lunch from home or opt for meals available at the daycare. We promote balanced eating habits and create a pleasant, social mealtime environment for the children to enjoy together.

Guidelines: Please ensure all snacks and meals brought from home meet our health and allergy guidelines. Our approach to meals and snacks is designed to instill healthy habits, foster independence, and celebrate the joy of sharing moments with friends. If you have any specific dietary concerns or questions, feel free to reach out to us!
At Mrs. Helane’s Learn and Playcare, we absolutely adore pets and have always been passionate about their positive impact on children. Over the years, our daycare has been home to some truly special animals. In the past, we had two beloved Coon dogs, Sutter and Bella, who were the heart and soul of our family and cherished by everyone who met them.

Today, we are proud to have an ADRK Rottweiler named Cersei, our queen, along with a few charming cats. We firmly believe that pets play an incredible role in shaping children’s character. They teach compassion, responsibility, and patience while providing endless joy and comfort.

Watching children form bonds with these loving companions is a beautiful reminder of the lessons of kindness and respect that pets inspire in young hearts. At our daycare, we embrace this connection and cherish the lifelong values it helps instill.
Your child will be evaluated and treated immediately. You will be called right away if the injury is severe, or if your child needs to go home due to illness.

If a child gets hurt or sick, the following procedures are typically followed:

For Injuries:

Immediate Care: We will provide basic first aid, such as cleaning a scrape, applying a bandage, or using ice packs for minor injuries.

Parent Notification: Parents or guardians are informed promptly, either by phone, text, or in person, depending on the severity of the injury.

Incident Report: An incident report is filled out, documenting what happened, how it was addressed, and any additional actions taken. Parents usually receive a copy of this report.

Emergency Situations: For serious injuries, staff will call 911 and immediately notify parents or emergency contacts.

For Illnesses:

Monitoring Symptoms: If a child shows signs of illness (fever, vomiting, rash, etc.), we will monitor the symptoms and isolate the child in a quiet, comfortable area to prevent the spread of illness.

Parent Notification: Parents are contacted to pick up their child as soon as possible.

Follow-Up Care: Parents may be asked to consult a healthcare provider and keep the child home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours or as specified by our daycare policy.

Health Policies: We have clear guidelines about when a sick child can return to care, ensuring the safety of all children.

At Mrs. Helane’s learn & play care, we follow strict health and safety regulations and are prepared to handle such situations with care and professionalism. Parents are encouraged to provide up-to-date emergency contact information and share any specific medical needs or allergies their child may have.
